Food for thought
In a trustworthy person, words and actions coincide.
“…..the man of faith, without being driven, willingly and gladly seeks to do good to everyone, suffer all kinds of hardships, for the sake of the love and glory of the God who has shown him such grace. It is impossible, indeed to separate works from faith, just as it is impossible to separate heat and light from fire.”
Martin Luther
A warm welcome to our Fellowship in
Well, after about 220 ‘Pastor’s Corners’ this is my last and I have to bow out and allow others to take over as the Lord leads. This little editorial spot has allowed me the possibility of a wide ranging remit – mostly musings and or ponderings, and if I’ve sparked anything off in anyone’s own thoughts then I consider the effort worthwhile! My own thoughts have nearly always challenged me! For those who do not know the reason for the cessation, the answer is easy – the Lord has moved Sally and myself along, and in a week or so we will be found in the UK, taking up a new work (for us) at Medway Christian Fellowship in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, about as far removed from Polis, Cyprus as is possible in virtually every aspect.
But the wonderful thing about the body of Christ is wherever we are there is our Lord and Master to lead and guide. The challenges in the UK will soon make themselves apparent, and neither of us is so dozy as to think otherwise, but the Lord will be with us, for He has said so in His word. The vision for living by the truth remains unchanged, and the Lord’s equipping and empowering will allow us, in concert with others, to fulfil His purposes, and where better place can there be, alongside Him?
So, it’s a bitter/sweet time for us as we pack our bags and head north and west. The five years here have been rewarding and full of instruction. We could not be going on without the platform of the Lord’s work in us, and we recognise the input we have received. We have made good friends; friends whom one knows will maintain faith and commitment to the relationship. Many acquaintances as well, who by the Lord’s will have crossed our path, often at crucial times, and who’s input into our lives have enriched and challenged us. And of course there has been the occasional ‘thorn in the flesh’ (see Ezekiel 28:24 for an understanding of that!), and why wouldn’t there have been?! God’s grace has indeed been sufficient for us. In short the fabric of life itself here has been a valuable and rewarding experience, and who knows, we may well come back to say ‘hello’ – but not to write a ‘Pastor’s Corner’!
Keep holding onto Jesus; keep pressing on in Jesus, and keep focusing on Jesus. God bless, Len

‘Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day He visits us.’
